Manager’s 2023 Highlights

We are all aware of how exhausting and demanding a nursery managers job can be, so we want to celebrate their achievements of 2023 to show how rewarding and fulfilling it is.

We asked nursery managers to share their achievements of this year, the response shows that there are many dedicated and passionate early years managers who go above and beyond for their team to achieve great things.

There have been many successful Ofsted stories with Outstanding outcomes from inspections or we have heard how managers have worked hard and regained their Good or Outstanding grading following a Requires Improvement or an Inadequate outcome at inspection. These are huge achievements and shows the determination and the tenacity within our sector.

There were many managers who told us about the awards they have won throughout the year showing appreciation and recognition to all practitioners and their managers from accredited early years organisations. Whilst other managers told us their achievements were receiving positive and encouraging feedback from parents showing their appreciation for all the effort they have made throughout the year. One manager we asked said their achievement was being called a “Superstar” by a parent which of course, everyone in our sector is!

Others shared stories of summer graduations and how fulfilling it was to see their children leave with the confidence they would thrive at school, showing managers have a real passion for the children they care for and watching them grow and develop is a real motivation for everyone in their nursery. One manager told us “We had an amazing graduation celebrating our children’s achievements and getting them ready for their big school adventure”.

A huge achievement for a lot of managers was simply being able to remain open with the current financial crisis, a lot of nurseries and pre-schools are currently under the threat of closure and there is added pressure with the new funding being introduced next year with still no confirmation of how much individual nurseries will receive. This would not happen in any other sector and only provides instability to smaller nurseries and pre-schools so yes, the achievement of remaining open and providing a service to local families should be recognised and celebrated.

PeopleBunch want to recognise and celebrate everyone in the early years sector and hope those who are passionate about early years continue to celebrate their achievements rather than be driven out by the politics which govern us.

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas.
